Nickel Alloy 600, also known as Inconel® 600, is a highly versatile nickel-chromium alloy that resists oxidation up to 2000°F (1093°C). With a minimum 72% combined content of nickel and chromium, it is also effective in low-temperature environments. The alloy resists both organic and inorganic compounds and prevents chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking. Nickel Alloy 600 is suitable for various critical applications requiring corrosion and heat resistance.
Nickel-based Inconel 600 pipes are designed for high-temperature environments. Like most nickel alloys, ASME SB163 Inconel 600 pipes provide both heat resistance and outstanding corrosion resistance. In fact, the corrosion resistance of SB163 Inconel 600 alloy seamless pipes is due to the excellent characteristics of nickel and chromium. These two elements form the basis of ASTM B163 N06600 Alloy 600. As such, SB163 UNS N06600 Alloy 600 pipes are commonly used in condenser and heat exchanger applications.
